Jakarta’s Priscilla Hertati Lumban Gaol scores 5 ONE Championship wins in 2018

Fighting out of Jakarta, Indonesia, Priscilla “Thathi” Hertati Lumban Gaol, 30, is the most prolific athlete in ONE Championship in 2018. In one year, she competed in six contests in the Singapore-based martial arts organization, winning five.

In 2017, Gaol lost both of her first two ONE Championship bouts. She lost to Tiffany “No Chill” Teo, 29, of Singapore via unanimous decision at “ONE: Throne of Tiger” on February 10, 2017 at the Stadium Negara in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

On November 10, 2017, Gaol returned to the ONE Championship cage facing a hometown hero. She was knocked out via punches by Gina “Conviction” Iniong, 29, of the Philippines at “ONE: Legends of the World” at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Metro Manila, Philippines.

It was on January 20, 2018 at “ONE: Kings of Courage” at the Jakarta Conventional Center in Jakarta where Gaol had her first victory in ONE Championship. In front of her hometown crowd, the Jakarta native knocked out Audreylaura “ice Comet” Boniface Raphael, 28, of Papar, Sabah, Malaysia via punches.

On February 23, 2018, Gaol faced her second Filipino opponent in ONE Championship. The Jakarta native submitted Krisna Limbaga, 28, of Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental, Philippines via scarf hold armlock at “ONE: Quest for Gold” at the Thuwunna Indoor Stadium in Yangon, Myanmar.

For the third time, Gaol faced a Filipino opponent in ONE Championship. On May 12, 2018, the Indonesian fighter submitted Rome “The Rebel” Trinidad, 20, of Bulacan, Philippines via guillotine choke at “ONE: Grit and Glory” at the Jakarta Convention Center.

Gaol’s winning streak was broken on July 13, 2018. She lost via unanimous decision to Jihin ‘Shadowcat” Radzuan, 19, of Johor Bahru, Malaysia at “ONE: Pursuit of Power.”

On September 22, 2018, Gaol returned to the Jakarta Convention Center where she faced her fourth Filipino opponent in ONE Championship. She won via unanimous decision against Jomary “The Zamboanganian Fighter” Torres of Sindangan, Zamboanga del Norte, Philippines at “ONE: Conquest of Heroes.”

For the fifth time, Gaol battled it out with a Filipino opponent inside the ONE Championship cage on November 17, 2018. Competing again in front of her hometown crowd, Gaol won via unanimous decision against Angelie “The Explorer” Sabanal, 28, of Cagayan de Oro City, Philippines at “ONE: Warrior’s Dream” at the the Stadium Istora in Jakarta.

Winning at “ONE: Warrior’s Dream” improved Gaol’s professional MMA record to 5 wins and 3 losses. Here is a recap of the event by Michael Schiavello and Mitch Chilson:
