Training out of Sik-Jitsu Fighting Systems in Spokane, Washington, United States, Tyler McGuire, 32, was at the Jakarta Muay Thai and MMA Gym in Jakarta, Indonesia on November 14, 2018. The undefeated American mixed martial artist and Zebaztian “The Bandit” Kadestam, 28, of Sweden had their official face-off during a “ONE: Warrior’s Dream” open workout.

McGuire and Kadestam will headline “ONE: Warrior’s Dream,” which will take place at the Stadium Istora in Jakarta on November 17, 2018. They will compete for the vacant ONE Welterweight World Championship.

“Zebaztian Kadestam is a real tough guy and I know he’s going to come to fight,” McGuire stated. “That’s exactly what I want and I don’t expect anything less. I know he thinks I can’t hurt him with my striking but my striking is underrated.”

Joining McGuire and Kadestam at the open workout were ONE Championship athletes Nieky Holzken, Cosmo Alexandre, Priscilla Hertati Lumban Gaol and Angelie Sabanal. Holzken and Alexandre will co-headline “ONE: Warrior’s Dream.”

“To receive the opportunity to win a world title in ONE Championship is an absolute honor,” McGuire said. “It means you are among the world’s best. I have prepared very hard for this fight and now I want to showcase the results of my hard work.”

A submission specialist, McGuire is known for his ability to display creative grappling techniques. He holds a professional MMA record of 11 wins and 0 loss and 7 of his wins came by way of submission.

“I consider myself a complete martial artist,” McGuire declared. “Of course, my main arsenal is still my ground game, and if there is an opportunity to take him down, I’ll maximize it. But if we are going to stand up and trade, then I’m prepared for that.”

When McGuire made his ONE Championship debut, which was at the Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia at “ONE: Pursuit of Power” on July 13, 2018, he defeated Luis “Sapo” Santos, 38, of Brazil via unanimous decision. Watch their bout here:
