Hailing from Arsta, Uppsala, Sweden, Zebaztian “The Bandit” Kadestam, 28, is competing in the ONE Championship cage for the third time. For the second time, he will make an attempt to capture the ONE Welterweight Championship World Championship, which is currently vacant.
On November 17, 2018, Kadestam will try to earn his first ONE Championship belt in the main event of “ONE: Warrior’s Dream” at the Stadium Istora in Jakarta, Indonesia. To earn the belt, he has to conquer undefeated American mixed martial artist Tyler McGuire, 32, who is fighting out of Spokane, Washington, United States.
On November 14, 2018, Kadestam and McGuire had their face-off during an open workout at the Jakarta Muay Thai and MMA Gym in Jakarta. During the event, the Swedish contender said, “I’ve been training hard and I feel good so I feel confident in this fight.”
“Tyler McGuire is a strong guy with good stamina,” Kadestam continued. “The first couple of rounds is going to be tough so I have to be careful. He’s going to try to take me down but I’ve prepared my defense well.”
“Then it’s just a matter of going out there and having fun,” the Arsta native added. “I’m used to things being rough and tough. I’ve never had an easy fight in my whole career.”
Currently, Kadestam holds a professional MMA record of 10 wins and 4 losses. On the other hand, McGuire has 11 wins and 0 loss.
“ONE: Warrior’s Dream” marks Kadestam’s fourth bout in ONE Championship. It will be McGuire’s second outing in the promotion.
Kadestam has trained in Thailand and in the Philippines. In 2014, he captured the PXC Welterweight Championship in Guam.
