Including Ireland and South Africa, 11 countries were represented at “Brave 19: South Africa,” the first ever international mixed martial arts events in the country. Bahrain-based MMA promotion Brave Combat Federation held the historic event at Sun City Resort in North West, South Africa on December 8, 2018.
“Brave 19: South Africa” feature 10 MMA bouts. In the co-main event of the evening, Frans “The Black Mamba” Mlambo, 27, of Dublin, Ireland faced Dansheel “Mamu” Moodley, 26, of Durban, Kwazulu-Natal, South Africa.
Mlambo was originally set to face Arnold “Silverback” Quero, 30, of Paris, France. The latter was pulled out of the card and was replaced by Moodley.
Blue Corner
Moodley is training out of Domination Gym in Durban North, Durban under the tutelage of Clint Walters. “Brave 19: South Africa” marked his Brave CF debut.
Before joining Brave CF, Moodley competed in five bouts in the Extreme Fighting Championship. He was coming out of three consecutive wins.
Red Corner
Mlambo was born in South Africa in 1991. A Seventh Day Adventist, he is known as an avid Christian.
“Brave 19: South Africa” marked Mlambo’s sixth Brave CF bout. He is training out of Straight Blast Gym Ireland, which is also home to his fellow Dublin native Conor “Notorious” McGregor, 30, a former UFC Lightweight Champion.

Mlambo and Moodley competed in the bantamweight division at “Brave 19: South Africa.” The bout ended in the first round when the Irish contender submitted his South African opponent.
Winning at “Brave 19: South Africa” improved Mlambo’s professional MMA record to 6 wins and 4 losses. On the other hand, Moodley now has 4 wins and 2 losses.
“Brave 19: South Africa” Main Event
In the main event, Adam “Pride Time” Townsend, 30, of Hampton, Tennessee, United States faced Mark Hulme, 22, of Sunninghill, Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa in the welterweight division. The South African defeated his American opponent via unanimous decision.
Canada, Egypt, England, Finland, France, Poland, Portugal, the U.S. and Zimbabwe were also represented at “Brave 19: South Africa.” Check the complete results here.
