Bryce Ariel Armstrong competed at Miss District of Columbia Teen USA 2015 on December 21, 2014 and was fourth runner-up to Niara Iman. On December 17, 2016, Armstrong competed for the Miss District of Columbia USA 2017 title at the Renaissance Downtown Hotel Congressional Ballroom in Washington, D.C. and was third runner-up to Kara McCullough.

On December 16, 2017, Armstrong competed against 25 other Miss District of Columbia USA 2018 candidates at Renaissance Washington, DC Downtown Hotel in Northwest, Washington, D.C. and won the title. On July 25, 2018, she turned 22.

On December 8, 2018, Armstrong crowned her successor Cordelia Cranshaw at the Theatre of the Arts of the University of the District of Columbia in Northwest. The latter will represent Washington, D.C. at Miss USA 2019.

Currently, Washington, D.C. has 21 Miss USA placements including the coronations of Barbara Joan “Bobbi” Johnson in 1964, Shauntay Renae Hinton in 2002, Deshauna Barber in 2016 and McCullough in 2017. Representing the U.S., Johnson finished in the Top 15 at Miss Universe 1964, Hinton was unplaced at Miss Universe 2002, Barber finished in the Top 9 at Miss Universe 2016 and McCullough finished in the Top 10 at Miss Universe 2017.
