After going on hiatus for three years, Faith Cuneta made a comeback at the Smart Araneta Coliseum stage. On December 9, 2018, she opened for the last leg of Michael Learns to Rock’s Philippine tour, which was produced by Ovation Productions.

Cuneta mesmerized the crowd with her opening number “My All” by Mariah Carey. The Filipino singer started out calmly before hitting the high notes throughout the song.

After “My All,” Cuneta sang “Foolish Heart” by Steve Perry so effectively that the crowd sang with her. After the performances, she expressed her happiness and excitement to be back onstage and explained her absence in the past few years.

According to Cuneta, she fell in love, got married and gave birth to her son during her three-year break. She also acknowledged her guitarist Bryan Fernando, who was also her guitarist during the early years of her singing career when she would perform in bar and hotel lounge gigs after finishing her studies at the College of St. Benilde.

For Cuneta, it was like starting over again. When she sang “Starting Over Again” by Natalie Cole, the audience sang along with her again.

The other songs Cuneta performed at the Michael Learns to Rock concert were “Love of My Life” by Queen, “Bukas Na Lang Kita Mamahalin” by Lani Misalucha and “Iris” by Goo Goo Dolls. Cuneta’s most recent single before taking a break from show business was her version of “Bukas Na Lang Kita Mamahalin.”

In 1997, Cuneta joined Metropop Star Search and finished second with her rendition of “Di Ko Na Kaya.” In third place was Melanie Calumpad, who is professionally known as Kyla, while the winner was Jonard Yanzon, who was a member of the boy band 17:28 along with Gian Magdangal, Chino Alfonso and Wackie Valdes.

In 2008, Cuneta won the Best Female Performer award at the Aliw Awards. She has released five studio albums and was dubbed the Asianovela Diva after singing the official soundtracks of several Filipino-dubbed Korean series shown on GMA Network.

Ready to go back to work, Cuneta has lined up a lot of shows. Meanwhile, watch a clip of the Filipino singer performing “Ikaw” here:
