Angela Lee vs Xiong Jing Nan: Undefeated Singaporean fighter eyeing 2nd belt

Reigning ONE Women’s Atomweight World Champion Angela “Unstoppable” Lee, 22, of Singapore will become the first ever female two-division world champion in the world if she wins at “ONE: A New Era.” She is set to challenge reigning ONE Women’s Strawweight World Champion “The Panda” Xiong Jing Nan, 30, of China.

Taking place at the Ryogoku Kokugikan in Tokyo, Japan on March 31, 2019, “ONE: A New Era” will be the first ever ONE Championship event to take place in Japan. Including the match between Lee and Xiong, the fight card features three title bouts.

Lee and Xiong were originally scheduled to battle it out in the main event of “ONE: Heart of the Lion” at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore on November 9, 2018. However, the Singaporean challenger was injured prior to the fight night so the bout was cancelled.

“Becoming a two-division world champion in the sport is something I wanted for so long but I knew I had to earn it,” Lee said during a worldwide conference call prior to “ONE: Heart of the Lion.” “The time has come to turn that dream into a reality. I am facing an outstanding champion in my next bout, and I am not taking Xiong Jing Nan lightly.”

Currently, Lee holds a professional mixed martial arts record of 9 wins and 0 loss and is training out of Evolve MMA in Singapore. On the other hand, Xiong, who is undefeated in ONE Championship, has 13 wins and 1 loss and is training out of Phuket Top Team in Phuket, Thailand.
