Tony Labrusca is being accused of displaying arrogance while communicating with Bureau of Immigration officers at the NAIA Terminal 1 in Parañaque, Metro Manila, Philippines. From Canada, the Filipino actor arrived in the Philippines on January 3, 2019 reportedly with his boyfriend.
Upon arriving in the Philippines, Labrusca took to Twitter to share to his fans that the Bureau of Immigration gave him only 30 days to stay in the country. Accusers took to social media to react to the tweet, which has since been deleted.
According to one accuser, Labrusca was shouting while talking to an immigration officer. The actor’s boyfriend was allegedly trying to calm him down while he was accusing an officer of giving him a hard time while people in the vicinity were taking photos of him.
Another accuser claims that she works at the Bureau of Immigration. According to her, Labrusca yelled at her supervisor and was bragging that he was a celebrity.
Following the incident, the bureau took to Facebook to release a statement to explain the limits to the Balikbayan (returning Filipino) privilege. Labrusca was not mentioned in the statement but was refereed to as a “celebrity” who is “American passport holder.”
Labrusca allegedly has a tourist visa and he has no working visa. He has yet to respond to the accusations.
