The first ONE Championship event to be held in Thailand in 2019 is “ONE: Clash of Legends,” which will take place at the Impact Arena in Bangkok on February 16, 2019. In the main event, martial arts legend Nong-O Gaiyanghadao, 33, of Thailand will square off against Han Zi Hao, 23, of China for the inaugural ONE Muay Thai Bantamweight World Title.
Considered one of the greatest strikers of all time, Nong-O has captured nearly every accolade in Muay Thai. When he was a teenager, he won his first contest at the famed Rajadamnern Stadium, which set off an incredible run of success.
Nong-o has competed in over 300 professional bouts. Competing professionally since 2005, he claimed two Thailand National Muay Thai Championships, four Lumpinee Stadium Muay Thai World Championships in different divisions and a Rajadamnern Stadium Muay Thai World Championship.
Now, Nong-o looks to cement his place among the world’s best strikers in ONE Super Series by attempting to win the greatest prize in martial arts. He will become the third champion in the ONE Championship’s striking-only league if he beats Han at “ONE: Clash of Legends.”
Han has been pursuing his martial arts dreams for more than 10 years already. At the age of 12, he began training in Sanda and eventually moved to Bangkok in pursuit of the world’s best Muay Thai training.
The Chinese athlete has lived in the capital city of Thailand for more than a decade now. He has been training and competing in the art of eight limbs while building an impressive record along the way.
Training out of Mad Muay Thai Gym, Han is the first martial artist to have three wins in ONE Super Series. In his most recent bout, which was at “ONE: Conquest of Champions” on November 23, 2018 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Metro Manila, Philippines, he knocked out Azwan “N41 Manik Ura” Che Wil, 23, of Malaysia.
