Discipline is not the only thing Jeremy “The Juggernaut” Pacatiw, 22, learned from mixed martial arts. The sport also taught the Brave Combat Federation athlete training out of Team Lakay in Baguio City, Philippines how to be tough yet humble.

“I learned a lot in this sport (including) the discipline, attitude, mental toughness, humility,” Pacatiw shared. “All of those things changed my life. It changed the way I view life and my way of life, as well. Now I’m able to support myself, help my parents, buy my own things.”

A record holder for most Brave CF bouts with seven fights, Pacatiw has represented the Philippines in diverse places such as Brazil, India, Morocco and Pakistan. Now, he wants to use the knowledge he gained in these experiences to inspire the youth in his community.

“I want to inspire others through sport,” the Team Lakay fighter said. “I want to show the youth that all things are possible. I feel like I need to be a good example for the next generation and I think that starts with respect.”

With a record of 4 wins and 3 losses in Brave CF and 8 wins and 3 losses overall, Pacatiw claims he uses all of his fights as a learning process and admits that losses teach him more than wins even though he is riding a two-fight win streak. He said, “I always took my losses as a success because I’ve learned a lot from them.”

For Pacatiw, losses give him motivation and they are stepping stones to his eventual success. He said, “I just want to continue sharpening my skills and I feel like I can become a very well-round MMA fighter and a world beater for sure.”

On March 15, 2019, Pacatiw will represent the Philippines at “Brave 22: Storm of Warriors” at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Metro Manila, Philippines . He will face a Filipino opponent, Mark “The Ruthless” Alcoba, 27.

Pacatiw and Alcoba are two of the 10 Filipino fighters on the “Brave 22: Storm of Warriors” card. Including Pacatiw, five of the Filipino fighters are training out of Team Lakay.
