Former DEEP Openweight Champion Ken Hasegawa, 32, of Japan will challenge reigning ONE Middleweight and Light Heavyweight World Champion “The Burmese Python” Aung La N Sang, 33, of Myanmar in a rematch at “ONE: A New Era.” They will compete for the Burmese fighter’s middleweight belt.

Hasegawa and Aung had their official face-off during the official kick-off press conference for “ONE: A New Era” on March 28, 2019 at the Ritz Carlton in Tokyo, Japan. The fight night will take place at the Ryogoku Kokugikan in Tokyo on March 31, 2019.

“Aung La N Sang is an amazing champion,” Hasegawa said during the press conference. “But I plan to shock the world this Sunday.”

When Hasegawa made his ONE Championship debut at “ONE: Spirit of a Warrior” at the Thuwunna Young Training Centre Stadium in Yangon, Myanmar on June 29, 2018, he challenged Aung for the middleweight belt. The Burmese defending champion knocked out his Japanese challenger in the fifth round.

“This rematch is very important for my career,” Hasegawa said. “Last year, we did battle and I gave everything I had. This time, I plan to do the same. I am willing to do whatever it takes to win.”

Featured on the “ONE: A New Era” card are 11 mixed martial arts bouts and four ONE Super Series matches, which include two kickboxing contests and two Muay Thai contests. The rematch between Aung and Hasegawa is one of the three co-main events, which are all title bouts.

Reigning ONE Women’s Atomweight World Champion “The Unstoppable” Angela Lee, 22, of Singapore will challenge reigning ONE Women’s Atomweight World Champion “The Panda” Xiong Jing Nan, 31, of China.
