Representing Puerto Rico, scuba diver and pool and beach attendant Jose Humberto Cotto Rodriquez, 25, is one of the bachelors from around the world who will compete for the Mister World 2019 title. He is 6’2” tall.
Cotto hails from Rio Grande, Puerto Rico. It is home to Coco Beach, Yocahú Observation Tower, Mt. Britton Lookout Tower, El Yunque, Indio Cave, Las Picúas Beach, Alfandega Building, Ilha dos Marinheiros and Praia da Capilha.
Currently, Cotto works as a beach and pool attendant. After earning a bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences with a Psychology major, he went on to earn a master’s degree in Human Resources Management.
A licensed scuba diver, Cotto enjoys not only scuba diving but also hiking, swimming, basketball and CrossFit. Inspired by his grandparents, he plans to create a gym that is eco-friendly, sustainable and designed for people who are 50 years old and older.
On March 31, 2019, Cotto was named Mr. Mundo Puerto Rico 2019 at Shimmy’s Bayside, Paseo Caribe in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He succeeded Fernando Alberto Alvaréz Soto, 24, of Coamo, Puerto Rico.
Alvarez did not place in Mr. World 2016. The coronation night of the pageant’s ninth edition took place at the Floral Hall of the Southport Convention Centre in Southport, England on July 19, 2016.
On August 23, 2019, Mr. World 2016 Rohit Khandelwal, 29, of India will crown his successor at the Mr. World 2019 coronation night at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City, Metro Manila, Philippines. It will be the 10th edition of the international male beauty pageant.
Mr. World 2019 marks the first time the pageant is held in the Philippines. If Cotto wins the crown, he will be the pageant’s first titleholder from Puerto Rico.
