Training out of Raty in Russia, Timofey Nastyukhin, 29, was one of the winners at “ONE: A New Era” at the Ryogoku Kokugikan in Tokyo, Japan on March 31, 2019. It was his sixth victory in ONE Championship.

“ONE: A New Era” featured 11 MMA bouts and four ONE Super Series matches, which include two kickboxing contests and two Muay Thai contests. In the 10th bout of the evening, Nastyukhin faced Eddie “The Underground King” Alvarez, 35, of the United States.

Alvarez and Nastyukhin competed in the quarter-finals of ONE Lightweight World Grand Prix. Kemp Cheng served as the referee.

Cheng put a stop to the contest after 4 minutes and 5 seconds in the first round. Nastyukhin shocked the crowd by knocking out Alvarez.

Winning at “ONE: A New Era” improved the professional MMA record of Nastyukhin to 13 wins and 4 losses. On the other hand, Alvarez now has 29 wins, 7 losses and 1 draw.

Including the U.S. and Russia, 19 countries were represented at “ONE: A New Era,” which is the first ever ONE Championship event to take place in Japan. The other countries represented were Australia, Brazil, China, Cyprus, France, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Netherlands, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea and Thailand.

Nastyukhin was two of the fighters from Russia on the “ONE: A New Era” card. Alvarez was one of the three fighters from the U.S.
