Representing Costa Rica, model and architecture student Daniel Esquivel, 25, is one of the bachelors from around the world who will compete for the Mister World 2019 title. He is 5’111⁄2” tall.
Esquivel hails from Sarchi, Alajuela, Costa Rica, the birthplace of architect, sculptor, mathematician and educator Ibo Bonilla Oconitrillo. For Mr. World Costa Rica 2019, his home country is one of the happiest countries in the world.
While working as a model, Esquivel is studying at the University of Costa Rica in San Pedro Montes de Oca, San José, Costa Rica. He is studying Architecture.
On April 6, 2019, Esquivel was crowned Mr. World Costa Rica 2018 at Hotel Barcelo San Jose in San Jose. The Sarchi native succeeded Daniel Alfaro Barrantes, 27, who hails from Grecia, Alajuela.
Barrantes did not place in Mr. World 2016, which was held at the Floral Hall of the Southport Convention Centre in Southport, Merseyside, England. He made it to the Top 12 in the Southport Pier Challenge, which was one of the sports and extreme events.
Among Esquivel’s dreams aside from winning the Mr. World 2019 crown are to write a book and have his own design company. He speaks Spanish and English.
When Esquivel is not modelling or studying, he spends time on circuit training, spinning classes, horse-riding, hiking and camping. He is also into drawing and painting.
Mr. World 2016 Rohit Khandelwal, 29, of India will crown his successor during the Mr. World 2019 coronation night at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City, Metro Manila, Philippines on August 23, 2019. It will be the 10th edition of the international male beauty pageant.
Mr. World 2019 marks the first time the pageant is held in the Philippines. If Esquivel wins the crown, he will be the pageant’s first titleholder from Costa Rica.
