Undefeated Malaysia-based English mixed martial artist Shaqueme Rock, 25, was originally scheduled to fight Danilo Sarmiento, 25, of the Philippines at “URCC Global: Raw Fury.” But due to visa issues, the former was pulled from the card and was replaced by another Filipino fighter Mark “The Ruthless” Alcoba, 27.
Hailing from Liverpool, England, Rock is training out Monarchy MMA in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. On April 26, 2019, he took to Facebook to apologize to his fans for the cancellation of his fight.
Alcoba was supposed to only corner one fighter at “URCC Global: Raw Fury.” He accepted the challenge to replace Rock and fight Sarmiento on short notice.
Like Rock, Sarmiento is an undefeated fighter. The Filipino fighter currently holds a professional MMA record of 3 wins and 0 loss.
On the other hand, Alcoba has 6 wins and 2 losses. He is coming out of a loss to fellow Filipino fighter Jeremy “The Juggernaut” Pacatiw, 22, at “Brave 22: Storm of Warriors” at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Metro Manila, Philippines on March 15, 2019.
Pacatiw is also attending “URCC Global: Raw Fury” but not as a contender. He is cornering his Team Lakay teammate Edilberto “Scooby” Coquia Jr., 19.
Here are Sarmiento and Alcoba at the “URCC Global: Raw Fury” weigh-ins at the Cove Manila:
