Training out of Fortis MMA in Dallas, Texas, United States, Ryan “Superman” Spann, 27, was one of the winners at “UFC 237.” It was his second victory in the Ultimate Fighting Championship.
Featuring 12 mixed martial arts matches, “UFC 237” took place at the Jeunesse Arena in Rio de Janeiro on May 11, 2019. In the seventh bout of the evening, Spann fought Antônio Rogério “Minotouro” Nogueira, 42, of Vitoria da Conquista, Brazil in the light heavyweight division with Herb Dean as the referee.
Dean put a stop to the light heavyweight contest after 2 minutes and 7 seconds. Spann knockout Nogueira via left uppercut.
Winning at “UFC 237″improved Moises’s professional MMA record to 16 wins and 5 losses. On the other hand, Nogueira now has 23 wins and 9 losses.
“UFC 237” marked Spann’s second UFC outing. When he made his promotional debut at “UFC Fight Night 137” on September 22, 2018 at the Ginásio do Ibirapuera in Sao Paulo, Brazil, he won via unanimous decision against Luis “KLB” Henrique Barbosa de Oliviera, 25, of Rio de Janeiro.
Before officially joining the UFC, Spann competed in Dana White’s Contender Series twice. On July 25, 2017, he was lost to Karl “Baby K” Roberson, 28, of Neptune, New Jersey, USA at “DW’s Contender Series 2017: Week 3” at the TUF Gym in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.
On June 19, 2018, Spann defeated Emiliano Sordi at “DW’s Contender Series 2018: Week 2” at the TUF Gym. By beating Nogueira at “UFC 237,” Spann is now riding a six-bout winning streak.
While Nogueira was one of the 14 fighters who represented the Brazil at “UFC 237,” Spann was one of the six fighters who represented USA. The other countries represented were Argentina, Australia, Mexico and Peru.
Spann hails from Memphis, Tennessee, USA. He was born on August 24, 1991 and has been competing professionally since 2013.
