Aurora is one of the seven provinces of the Central Luzon region of the Philippines. The others are Bataan, Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, Tarlac and Zambales.

Rommel Rico Teh Angara assumed office as the vice governor of Aurora on June 30, 2013 and will assume office as the congressman of the province on June 30, 2019. Born in Quezon City, Metro Manila, Philippines, he turned 40 on December 19, 2018.

Aurora has eight municipalities namely Baler, Casiguran, Dilasag, Dinalungan, Dingalan, Dipaculao, Maria Aurora and San Luis. The province has a total of 151 barangays, 13 of which are in Baler, the capital of the province.

On June 5, 2011, Athena Mae Duarte Imperial represented Casiguran at Miss Philippines Earth 2011 and competed against 47 other candidates at the Puerto Princesa Coliseum in Puerto Princesa, Philippines. She won the title.

On December 3, 2011, Imperial represented the Philippines at Miss Earth 2011 and competed against 83 other candidates at the University of the Philippines Theater in Diliman, Quezon City. She ranked third and was crowned Miss Earth-Water 2011.
