Representing Cagayan de Oro, Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach ranked fifth at Binibining Pilipinas 2013 and was named the first runner-up, finished in the Top 15 at Bb. Pilipinas 2014 and ranked first at Bb. Pilipinas 2015 and was crowned Miss Universe Philippines 2015. Representing the Philippines, she won Miss Universe 2015.

On July 15, 2017, Sherlyn Doloriel represented Cagayan de Oro at Miss Philippines Earth 2017 and competed against 39 other candidates at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Metro Manila, Philippines. She was unplaced.

On October 7, 2018, Katrina Acaylar represented Cagayan de Oro at Miss World Philippines 2018 and competed against 39 other candidates at the same venue. She was unplaced.
