Ifugao is one of the six provinces in the Cordillera Administrative Region of the Philippines. The others are Abra, Apayao, Benguet, Kalinga and Mountain Province.

Baguio, the only independent city in the region, is geographically located in Benguet but independent from the province. The city is around 192 kilometers away from Lagawe, the capital of Ifugao.

Ifugao was founded on June 18, 1966. Aside from Lagawe, the province has 10 other municipalities namely Aguinaldo, Alfonso Lista, Asipulo, Banaue, Hingyon, Hungduan, Kiangan, Lamut, Mayoyao and Tinoc.

On May 11, 2008, Iris Michelle Dulawan represented Ifugao at Miss Philippines Earth 2008 and competed against 40 other candidates at the Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria in Quezon City, Metro Manila, Philippines. She was unplaced.

On May 27, 2012, Alvy Faith Pel-Ey represented Ifugao at Miss Philippines Earth 2012 and competed against 46 other candidates at the Center Stage of the SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City, Metro Manila. She was unplaced.
