Tabuk is the only city in Kalinga, Philippines. The city is also the capital of the province, which has seven municipalities namely Balbalan, Lubuagan, Pasil, Pinukpuk, Rizal, Tanudan and Tinglayan.

Born in Tinglayan, Whang-od Oggay turned 102 on February 17, 2019. She started tattooing headhunters and women of the Butbut tribe of Kalinga in 1928 and is now the oldest traditional Kalinga tattoo artist.

On June 9, 2001, Sandra A. Rebancos represented Kalinga at Mutya ng Pilipinas 2001 and competed against 24 other candidates at the NBC Tent in Taguig, Metro Manila, Philippines. She finished in the Top 10.

On March 16, 2002, Rebancos represented Kalinga at Binibining Pilipinas 2002 and competed against 22 other candidates at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City, Metro Manila. She was unplaced.

On May 27, 2012, Glennifer Duggay Plerido represented Tabuk at Miss Philippines Earth 2012 and competed against 46 other candidates at the Center Stage of the SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City, Metro Manila. She ranked second and was crowned Miss Philippines Air 2012.

On August 16, 2014, Apple Ann Bartolome represented Kalinga at Miss Grand Philippines 2014 and competed against 16 other candidates at the GT-Toyota Asian Cultural Center in Quezon City. She finished in the Top 10.
