Lanao del Norte is one of the five provinces in the Northern Mindanao region of the Philippines. The others are Bukidnon, Camiguin, Misamis Occidental and Misamis Oriental.
Iligan is geographically located in Lanao del Norte but is independent from the province. The province has 22 municipalities including its capital Tubod.
In 1977, Tubod native Imelda “Angging” dela Cruz Quibranza Dimaporo married Abdullah Dimakuta Dimaporo. Since June 30, 2013, he has been the congressman of the second district of Lanao del Norte, a position he held from June 30, 1987 to December 27, 1989 and from June 30, 2001 to June 30, 2010.
From June 30, 2010 to June 30, 2016, Angging served as the congresswoman of the first district of Lanao del Norte. She has been the governor of the province since June 30, 2016.
Born in Tubod to Abdullah and Angging, Mohamad Khalid Quibranza Dimaporo has been the congressman of the first district of Lanao del Norte since June 30, 2016. Born in Balindong, Lanao del Sur, Philippines, Abdullah turned 69 on November 21, 2018.
Angging turned 60 on January 15, 2019. Khalid turned 39 on February 16, 2019.
