Maguindanao, Philippines had one congressional district from July 1984 to March 1986 and from June 2007 to June 2008 and two congressional districts from July 1987 to June 2007. Since July 2008, the province has two congressional districts.
Simeon Ampatuan Datumanong served as the congressman of Maguindanao from June 30, 2007 to June 30, 2010. He was the congressman of the second district of the province from June 30, 1992 to January 20, 2001, from June 30, 2004 to June 30, 2007 and from June 30, 2010 to June 30, 2013.
Born in Cotabato, Philippines, Datumanong turned 81 on June 17, 2016. He died in Quezon City, Metro Manila, Philippines on February 28, 2017.
