2019 Marinduque congressman, governor, vice governor, board members elected

One of the provinces in the Philippines with the lowest crime rates is Marinduque. The province celebrates the Moriones Festival every Holy Week.

Marinduque has six municipalities namely Boac, Buenavista, Gasan, Mogpog, Santa Cruz and Torrijos. The capital of the province is Boac, which is around 158 kilometers away from Pasay City, Metro Manila, Philippines.

Born in Pasay City, Presbitero Jose Velasco Jr. served as an associate justice of the Philippine Court of Appeals from April 22, 1998 to August 8, 2003. He was an associate justice of the Supreme Court of the Philippines from March 31, 2006 to August 8, 2018.

On August 8, 2018, Velasco turned 70. On June 30, 2019, he will assume office as the governor of Marinduque.

The six municipalities of Marinduque collectively have 218 barangays. A total of 25 of these are in Gasan and 55 are in Santa Cruz.

On May 19, 2018, Annalea Rabe represented Santa Cruz at Miss Earth Philippines 2018 and competed against 41 other candidates at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City. She was unplaced.

On October 23, 2018, Mark Jero Bagaporo of Libtangin, Gasan competed against 15 other candidates at Mister World Philippines 2018 at the Newport Performing Arts Theater of Resorts World Manila in Pasay City. He did not make it to the Top 6.
