Mountain Province is one of the six provinces of the Cordillera Administrative Region of the Philippines. The others are Abra, Apayao, Benguet, Ifugao and Kalinga.

With a total area of 2,157.38 square kilometers, Mountain Province has 10 municipalities namely Barlig, Bauko, Besao, Bontoc, Natonin, Paracelis, Sabangan, Sadanga, Sagada and Tadian. The capital of the province is Bontoc, which is around 155 kilometers way from Baguio, the only independent city in the Cordillera Administrative Region.

Besao native Leonard Gabas Mayaen served as the governor of Mountain Province from June 30, 2010 until his death. He turned 63 on March 14, 2016 and died in Bontoc on March 31, 2016.

Bauko native Bonifacio Calde Lacwasan Jr. has been the governor of Mountain Province since March 31, 2016. He turned 60 on September 15, 2018.
