Quirino is one of the five provinces in the Cagayan Valley region of the Philippines. The others are Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela and Nueva Vizcaya.
Born in Quezon City, Metro Manila, Philippines, Dakila Carlo “Dax” Enriquez Cua served as the vice governor of Quirino from June 30, 2001 to June 30, 2007 and the governor of the province from June 30, 2007 to June 30, 2010. He will assume office again as the governor of the province on June 30, 2019 and will turned 42 on November 4, 2019.

Elpidio Rivera Quirino served as the vice president of the Philippines from May 28, 1946 to April 17, 1948 and the president of the country from April 17, 1948 to December 30, 1953. The province of Quirino was named after him.
Born in Vigan, Ilocos Sur, Philippines, Quirino turned 65 on November 16, 1955. He died in Quezon City on February 29, 1956.
On February 10, 1972, Quirino was formally established as a province. The province has a total area of 2,319.66 square kilometers.
Quirino has six municipalities namely Aglipay, Cabarroguis, Diffun, Maddela, Nagtipunan and Saguday. These municipalities collectively have 132 barangays, 17 of which are in Cabarroguis, the capital of the province.
