Tarlac is one of the seven provinces of the Central Luzon region of the Philippines. The others are Aurora, Bataan, Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, Tarlac and Zambales.
Carlos “Charlie” Oppen Cojuangco has been the congressman of the first district of Tarlac since June 30, 2016. He held the same position from June 30, 1998 to June 30, 2007.

Tarlac City is the capital of Tarlac and the only component city of the province. The province has 17 municipalities namely Anao, Bamban, Camiling, Capas, Concepcion, Gerona, La Paz, Mayantoc, Moncada, Paniqui, Pura, Ramos, San Clemente, San Jose, San Manuel ,Santa Ignacia and Victoria.
On May 31, 2015, Alvie Shame Lacson represented Bamban and Meryl Joy Yandan represented Moncada at Miss Philippines Earth 2015 and competed against 36 other candidates at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Metro Manila, Philippines. They were both unplaced.
On July 15, 2017, Princess Nicolas represented Camiling at Miss Philippines Earth 2017 and competed against 39 other candidates at the same venue. She was unplaced.
