Fighting out of Malmö, Sweden, Lina “Elbow Queen” Länsberg, 37, was one of the winners at “UFC Fight Night 153.” It was the Swedish mixed martial artist’s third victory in the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

Featuring 12 MMA matches, “UFC Fight Night 153” took place at the Ericsson Globe in Stockholm, Sweden on June 1, 2019. In the sixth bout of the evening, Länsberg fought Tonya “Triple Threat” Evinger, 37, of Houston, Texas, United States in the women’s bantamweight division with Kevin Sataki as the referee.

In the first round, Länsberg scored a takedown and followed it up with ground and pund but Evinger was saved by the bell. The Texan contender dragged her Swedish opponent to the mat in the second round but the latter got into the top position and punished her opponent with strikes.

Länsberg continued to outperform Evinger in the third round. After three five-minute rounds, the bantamweight bout was left in the hands of the judges, who scored it 30-26, 30-27 and 30-26 in favor of the Malmö native.

Winning at “UFC Fight Night 153” improved the professional MMA record of Länsberg to 9 wins and 4 losses. On the other hand, Evinger now has 19 wins, 9 losses and 1 No Contest.

“It didn’t bother me too much that she pushed me against the cage because I needed my time,” Länsberg said of Evinger. “And then I just started feeling like I was twice as strong as her everywhere and it felt good.”

Born in Karlstad, Sweden on March 13, 1982, Länsberg was 21 years old when she started her straining in Muay Thai. She won the gold medal at the International Federation of Muaythai Amateur World Championship in 2008 and in 2012.

As an MMA fighter, Länsberg has been competing professionally since 2012. She joined the UFC in 2016 and the first two opponents she defeated in the promotion were Lucie Pudilová, 24, of Czech Republic and Gina “Danger” Mazany, 30, of the U.S.

At “UFC Fight Night 153,” Länsberg was one of the five hometown heroes who competed. Evinger was one of the four fighters who represented the U.S.

Including Sweden and the U.S., 15 countries were represented at “UFC Fight Night 153.” The other countries were Austria, Brazil, Denmark, England, Finland, Germany, Italy, the Northern Mariana Islands, Russia, Scotland, Serbia, South Korea and Spain.
