Brandon Ng, 25, and Wynn Neo, 23, made history as the first ever World Boxing Council Muay Thai national champions of Singapore in the welterweight and featherweight divisions, respectively. They were crowned at Juggernaut Fight Club in Singapore on June 29, 2019 at “SFC 7: Eight Limbs,” the seventh event of Singapore Fighting Championship.

“Brandon and Wynn are major rising stars within our Muay Thai community and they have definitely impressed everyone tonight,” SFC president and JFC head coach Arvind Lalwani stated. “The Singapore Fighting Championship is all about creating a legitimate platform to elevate the level of combat sports locally and that is what we have achieved.”

An independent fighter, Ng became Singapore’s first professional WBC Muay Thai Welterweight Champion by beating his fellow Singaporean fighter Andre Seah, 27, via unanimous decision. The latter trains out of Vanda Fit Gym.

“It was a very important fight because it is in Singapore,” Ng said. “I rarely get to fight in Singapore so I wanted to make the most out of this opportunity to showcase my skills and what I can do in the ring.”

Training out of Muse Fitness Gym, Neo became Singapore’s first professional WBC Muay Thai Featherweight Champion by beating his fellow Singaporean fighter Vince Chew, 24, via unanimous decision. Like Seah, Chew also trains out of Vanda Fit Gym.

“SFC 7: Eight Limbs” featured 13 bouts of mixed martial arts, boxing and Muay Thai. It was an impressive showcase of professional and amateur fighters as SFC continues to be the leading advocate for local fighters and a legitimate platform that elevates the level of combat sports in Singapore.

Singaporean fighters bossed the amateur category at “SFC 7: Eight Limbs.” Amateur MMA fighter Ikrima Affan of Indonesia defeated Henry Yeo of Singapore via split decision, which denied Singapore a clean sweep.
