Fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Rodolfo “The Black Belt Hunter” Vieira, 29, was one of the winners at “UFC Fight Night 156.” It was the undefeated Brazilian mixed martial artist’s sixth victory in the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

Featuring 13 professional MMA bouts, “UFC Fight Night 156” took place at the Antel Arena in Montevideo, Uruguay. In the ninth bout of the evening, Vieira competed in the middleweight division against Oskar “Imadlo” Piechota, 29, of Gdansk, Poland.

Osiris Maia served as the referee. He put a stop to the middleweight bout after 4 minutes and 26 seconds in the second round when Vieira submitted Piechota via arm-triangle choke.

“I’ve been dreaming about this since I started fighting and winning, especially submitting a tough opponent like Piechota, was amazing,” Vieira said in his post-fight interview. “It has been amazing since the beginning. I would like to fight again this year.”

Winning at “UFC Fight Night 156” improved the professional MMA record of Vieira to 6 wins and 0 loss. On the other hand, Piechota now has 11 wins and 2 losses.

Including Brazil and Poland, 11 countries were represented at “UFC Fight Night 156.” The others were France, Mexico, Peru, Russia, Sweden, Switzerland, Uruguay and Venezuela.and the United States.

Brazil was represented by 10 fighters including Viera. Piechota solely represented Poland.

Born in Rio de Janeiro on September 25, 1989, Viera started his martial arts training when he was 13 years old. A Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt, he retired from competing in Jiu Jitsu in 2016 and made his professional MMA debut in 2017.

“UFC Fight Night 156” marked Vieira’s debut in the UFC. Before joining the promotion, he competed in Arzalet Fighting Globe Championship, Shooto Brazil and Absolute Championship Akhmat.
