Fighting out of El Agustino, Lima, Peru, Enrique “El Fuerte” Barzola, 30, was one of the winners at “UFC Fight Night 156.” It was the Peruvian mixed martial artist’s sixth victory in the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

Featuring 13 professional MMA bouts, “UFC Fight Night 156” took place at the Antel Arena in Montevideo, Uruguay. In the eighth bout of the evening, Barzola competed in the featherweight division against Bobby “The Wolfman” Moffett, 29, of Homewood, Illinois, United States.

Fernando Portella served as the referee. After three five-minute rounds, the featherweight contest was left in the hands of the judges, who scored it 28-29, 30-27 and 29-28.

In the end, Portella raised the hand of Barzola, who was declared the winner via split decision. It was a redemptive win for the Peruvian contender, who was coming out of a unanimous decision loss to Kevin “The Angel of Death” Aguilar, 30, of Longview, Texas, USA.

“It is easy for me to cut to 145 pounds and I think I will fight at 135 in my next fight,” Barzola said in his post-fight interview. “I will work on good plan with my team, and we will star to focus on that.”

Winning at “UFC Fight Night 156” improved the professional MMA record of Barzola to 16 wins, 4 losses and 1 draw. On the other hand, Moffett now has 14 wins and 5 losses.

Including Peru and the U.S., 11 countries were represented at “UFC Fight Night 156.” The others were Brazil, France, Mexico, Poland, Russia, Sweden, Switzerland, Uruguay and Venezuela.

Barzola was one of the three fighters who represented Peru. Including Moffett, four fighters represented the U.S.

Born in Lima on April 28, 1989, Barzola made his professional MMA debut in 2012. In 2015, he won two exhibition bouts in “The Ultimate Fighter Latin America” Season 2.
