Alice Miranda and Caio Miranda have little to no idea of what their father does for a living. They only know Gabriel “Fly” Miranda, 29, of Curitiba, Parana, Brazil as their loving and caring daddy.

Currently competing in Brave Combat Federation in the featherweight division, Gabriel is a whole different animal from the family man. One of the promotion’s best submission artists, he is known for his flying submissions and ever-improving stand-up game, a reputation he will put that reputation on the line at a heavier weight at “Brave 26.”

On September 7, 2019, Gabriel will face Jon “The Problem” Zarate of Medellin, Colombia at “Brave 26” at Coliseo Hernan Jaramillo in Salitre, Bogota, Colombia. They will battle it out in the lightweight division.

A black belt in jiu-jitsu and a teacher of the gentle art, Gabriel is on a path to destruction. He constantly deals with two sides to his own persona as a family-oriented person first and a fighter second.

But Gabriel cannot forget his aggressiveness and will to fight. These are always in the back of his mind even when he is out with the kids on the many parks of his adopted home of Curitiba.

But few people know Gabriel at his most aggressive and Fernando “Nando” Noriega of Peru is one of them. The Peruvian fighter faced the Brazilian fighter on September 7, 2018 when Brave CF went to Colombia for the first time, which also marked the latter’s promotional debut.

Gabriel screamed and screamed in the backstage, hyping himself up for the biggest moment of his career at the time. During the fight, it was business as usual as he controlled his own nerves, quickly locking in a guillotine choke that made his Peruvian opponent tap.

Instead of attending the after-party, Gabriel went straight back to his hotel room to call his kids and wife. The fighter was back to being the family man.

Since December 28, 2019, Gabriel has not fought and has used his time wisely as a father to Alice and Caio, jiu-jitsu teacher and a sparring partner for his teammates. But as soon as his comeback fight was signed, a key was turned.
