Mexico’s Brian Faugier is Mister World 2019 second runner-up, Mr. World Americas 2019

Representing Mexico, Brian Faugier, 25, was an outstanding candidate in Mister World 2019. However, he was two steps behind the title having finished third.

Aside from finishing third, Faugier earned one of the continental titles. He was crowned Mr. World Americas 2019.

Including Faugier, five continental winners were crowned. The others were Mr. World Europe 2019 Alberto Nodale, 28, of Austria, Mr. World Asia and Oceania Jody Baines Tejano Saliba, 26, of the Philippines, Mr. World Caribbean Alejandro Martinez, 26, of Dominican Republic and Mr. World Africa Fezile Mkhize, 28, of South Africa.

On August 23, 2019, Mr. World 2016 Rohit Khandelwal, 29, of India crowned former rocket scientist Jack Heslewood, 27, of England as his successor at the Mr. World 2019 coronation night at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City, Metro Manila, Philippines. It was the 10th edition of the international male beauty pageant.

Mr. World Organization CEO Julia Morley was the chairman of the board of judges. Her fellow judges were Miss World 2008 Ksenia Sukhinova, 31, Miss World 2016 Stephanie del Valle, 22, Miss World 2018 Vanessa Ponce de Leon, 27, Mr. World Organization head Arnold Vegafria, 49, Mr. World stylist Andrew Minarik, Mr. World musical director Mike Dixon, Mr. World choreographer and stage director Donna Derby, Bench founder and CEO Ben Chan and ABS-CBN broadcaster and journalist Korina Sanchez-Roxas, 54.

Mkhize was runner-up to Heslewood while Faugier was second runner-up. Martinez and Carlos Franco, 27, of Brazil made it to the Top 5.

Faugier advanced to the Top 12 of Mister World 2019 by winning one of the fast track events. He won the Top Model challenge.

On August 22, 2019, the 72 candidates vying for the Mister World 2019 title walked the runway wearing Barong Tagalog during the charity gala night at the Monet Ballroom of Novotel Manila Araneta Center in Quezon City, Metro Manila, Philippines. It was part of one the international male beauty pageant’s fast track events, which is the top model challenge.

Among the 72 candidates, 25 were chosen as the semifinalists, who were eventually trimmed down to five finalists. Faugier was declared as one of the five finalists along with Alejandro Martínez, 26, of Dominican Republic, Jack Heslewood, 27, of England, Jody Baines Saliba, 26, of the Philippines and Jorge Núñez, 24, of Venezuela.

Also during the event, two special awards were given. One was Mister Photogenic, which was awarded to Faugier.

On October 14, 2017, Faugier was crowned Mr. World Mexico besting 21 other candidates. He succeeded Aldo Esparza, who was second runner-up in Mr. World 2016.

When Faugier competed in Mr. World Mexico 2017, he won the Top Model award. Had he won Mr. World 2019, he would have been the international beauty pageant’s first ever titleholder from Mexico.
