Brian Faugier, 25, of Abasolo, Nuevo Leon, Mexico advanced to the Top 12 of Mister World 2019 by winning one of the fast track events. He won the Top Model challenge.
On August 22, 2019, the 72 candidates vying for the Mister World 2019 title walked the runway wearing Barong Tagalog during the charity gala night at the Monet Ballroom of Novotel Manila Araneta Center in Quezon City, Metro Manila, Philippines. It was part of one the international male beauty pageant’s fast track events, which is the top model challenge.
Among the 72 candidates, 25 were chosen as the semifinalists, who were eventually trimmed down to five finalists. Faugier was declared as one of the five finalists along with Alejandro Martínez, 26, of Dominican Republic, Jack Heslewood, 27, of England, Jody Baines Saliba, 26, of the Philippines and Jorge Núñez, 24, of Venezuela.
Also during the event, two special awards were given. One was Mister Photogenic, which was awarded to Faugier.
The coronation night was held on August 23, 2019 at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City. Mr. World 2016 Rohit Khandelwal, 29, of India is currently in the Philippines, ready to crown his successor.
It was on October 14, 2017 when Faugier was crowned Mr. World Mexico besting 21 other candidates. He succeeded Aldo Esparza, who was second runner-up in Mr. World 2016.
When Faugier competed in Mr. World Mexico 2017, he won the Top Model award. If he wins Mr. World 2019, he will be the international beauty pageant’s first ever titleholder from Mexico.
Currently, Faugier is earning his bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering at the Autonomous University of Nuevo Leon. As a model, he has worked Pineda Covalín, Burberry and Carolina Herrera.
Faugier speaks Spanish and English. He loves singing, reading, hiking and playing volleyball.
