Aerospace engineer Jack Heslewood, 27, of Hertfordshire, England is a few steps away from earning the Mister World 2019 title. He is one of the candidates of the 10th edition of the international male beauty pageant who has been catching the attention of the judges and the fans.
On August 22, 2019, the 72 Mr. World 2019 candidates walked the runway wearing Barong Tagalog during the charity gala night at the Monet Ballroom of Novotel Manila Araneta Center in Quezon City, Metro Manila, Philippines. It was part of one the international male beauty pageant’s fast track events, which is the top model challenge.
Among the 72 candidates, Heslewood was recognized as Best in Barong. He was also one of the five candidates chosen as the finalists of the top model challenge along with Alejandro Martínez, 26, of Dominican Republic, Jody Baines Saliba, 26, of the Philippines, Jorge Núñez, 24, of Venezuela and Brian Faugier, 25, of Mexico.
The winner of the Top Model challenge will automatically join the the Top 12 during the coronation night on August 23, 2019 at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City. Mr. World 2016 Rohit Khandelwal, 29, of India is currently in the Philippines, ready to crown his successor.
On August 21, 2019, Heslewood exhibited his drumming skills as one of the five finalists of the talent and creativity fast-track event. He and three other finalists lost to Mikaele Ahomana, 24, of Tonga.
Crowned Mr. World England 2019 in February 2019, Heslewood succeeded Christopher Bramell, 25, of Liverpool, England. The latter made it to the Top 5 in Mr. World 2016 in Southport, England.
Mr. World 2019 marks the first time the pageant is held in the Philippines. If Heslewood wins the crown, he will be the pageant’s first titleholder from England.
