The seventh game in the “Yakuza” series is titled “Ryū ga Gotoku 7: Hikari to Yami no Yukue” (“Yakuza 7: The Direction of Light and Dark”). The  action-adventure beat ’em up video game franchise created, owned and published by Sega, multinational video game developer and publisher headquartered in Tokyo, Japan.

“Yakuza 7” will be launched on January 16, 2020 for PlayStation 4 in Japan, Sega announced during a press conference on August 29, 2019 at the UDX Theater in Akihabara, Japan. Toshihiro Nagoshi is the general director of the game, which uses a real-time turn-based battle system.

One of the most important elements in the battle system is distance. The actions each of the party members can do depend on the distance between themselves and their enemies.

While every character in the game needs to wait before executing actions, all characters in battle keep moving at all time, Dual Shockers has learned. Here are the cast and characters:

  1. Kazuhiro Nakaya plays Ichiban Kasuga, a former yakuza of the Arakawa Clan, which is now affiliated with the Tojo clan. He was charged with murder and served a prison sentence in place of the Arakawa Clan boss and his father figure Masumi Arakawa.
  2. Kiichi Nakai plays Masumi Arakawa, the leader of the Arakawa Family. He is the third generation family of the Tojo Clan and the eighth generation boss of the Arakawa Clan.
  3. Shinichi Tsutsumi plays Jō Sawashiro, the right-hand man of the Arakawa Family. A martial arts practitioner who has been with Masumi Arakawa since their days in the Tojo Clan, Jō is the 8th generation section chief of the Arakawa Clan affiliated with the Omi Alliance, a yakuza organization from Osaka.
  4. Ken Yasuda as Nanba, a homeless man who used to work as a nurse. He lost his nursing license for smuggling medicine out of a hospital to the black market.
