Top basketball teams from the Philippines, China, Japan and South Korea will face off at “The Terrific 12” from September 17-22, 2019. East Asia Super League will hold the international basketball tournament at the Tap Seac Multi-Sport Pavilion in Macao, China.
“The Terrific 12” is recognized by the Fédération Internationale de Basketball (FIBA). Here are some of the participants from the Philippines:
Jayson “The Blur” Castro of TNT KaTropa:
“I’m going to show them what speed really looks like. They’ll never see me coming. We’re going to show these other teams how the PBA does things.”
June Mar Fajardo of San Miguel Beermen:
“We’ve got a pretty tough group. We’ll be up against some strong big men, especially the guys from Shenzhen. But we’ve seen it all in terms of competition and will be relying on our team effort and championship experience to carry us through.”
Terrence “Golden Boy” Romeo of San Miguel Beermen
“I really feel like I’m on my game and the experience with San Miguel enhanced my skills and confidence. Ryuichi Kishimoto is good so it will be an interesting matchup individually and a team basis.”
On August 28, 2019, Philippine Basketball Association legend and SMB coach Jimmy Alapag arrived in Macao to host meet and greet events. He kicked off the day by visiting some of the most iconic destinations including Rua do Cunha at the center of Taipa as well as the Ruins of St Paul’s Cathedral.
“Macao’s tourism sector is consistently growing and this is a great location for events. People from so many different countries come to visit and enjoy the culture, food and people. To bring a big-time sports event like ‘The Terrific 12’ to Macao is huge for locals and tourists,” Alapag continued. “There’s a ton of sports fans in the region and they can all converge in Macao to watch their favorite and the best basketball teams fight for ‘The Terrific 12’ crown.”
Full five-day tournament packages are also available at MOP 400 (standard ticket). Tickets are available for purchase through the following three ways:
