Mzwandile Hlongwa, 29, of Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa will make his Brave Combat Federation debut at “Brave 27.” He will face his fellow undefeated mixed martial artist Khamzat “Borz” Chimaev, 25, of Stockholm, Sweden in the middleweight division.
Khamzat Chimaev
Born on May 1, 1994, Chimaev is of Chechen descent. Training out of Allstars Training Center in Stockholm, Sweden, he has thrived since signing for Brave CF, going back and forth from welterweight to middleweight with three victories for the promotion.
When Chimaev made his Brave CF debut at “Brave 18” at the Khalifa Sports City Arena on November 16, 2018, he knocked out Marko Kisič of Vienna, Australia via punches in the welterweight division. On December 22, 2018, he knocked out Sidney “The All-American Kid” Wheeler, 22, of Georgia, United States via strikes at “Brave 20” at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium in Hyderabad, India.
On April 19, 2019, Chimaev knocked out Ikram Aliskerov, 26, of Makhachkala, Dagestan, Russia via uppercut in the welterweight division at “Brave 23: Pride and Honor” on April 19, 2019 at the Martyr Rashid Al-Ziyoud Hall Boxing Arena in Amman, Jordan. It was the first ever professional MMA loss of the latter.
The Swedish-Chechen MMA fighter is not shy about his intentions of being a multiple weight world champion. He will come back to middleweight to take on Hlongwa in Brave CF.
Currently, Chimaev holds a professional MMA record of 5 wins and 0 loss. On the other hand, Hlongwa has 4 wins, 0 loss, 0 draw and 1 No Contest.
Mzwandile Hlongwa
Hlongwa was born on June 22, 1990. He attended Simunye High School in Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa.
As an amateur MMA fighter, Hlongwa competed from 2012 to 2015. He has been competing professionally since 2016.
From 2016 to 2018, Hlongwa competed in Extreme Fighting Championship Worldwide and won four of his five bouts in the South African MMA promotion. One of this matches in the promotion ended in a No Contest.
“Brave 27”
Brave CF will hold “Brave 27” at the Mubadala Arena. It marks the third event of the Bahrain-based MMA promotion in Abu Dhabi.
Headlining “Brave 27” are eigning Brave CF Welterweight World Champion Abdoul “The Conqueror” Abdouraguimov, 23, of France and former titleholder Jarrah “The Jordanian Lion” Al-Selawe, 26, of Jordan. It is an immediate rematch after a close fight between both men at “Brave 23.”
