Siblings “Unstopabble” Angela Lee, 23, and Christian “The Warrior” Lee, 20, are among the reigning champions of Singapore-based martial arts organization ONE Championship. Both training out of Evolve MMA in Singapore and United MMA in Hawaii, United States, they are currently in Tokyo, Japan for “ONE: Century 世紀.”

Located in Waipahu, Hawaii, United MMA is owned by Angela and Christian’s father Ken Lee. Training children at the gym is Angela and Christian’s mother Jewelz Lee, a black belt in taekwondo.

Evolve MMA was founded by ONE Championship chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong. He is now in Tokyo for “ONE: Century 世紀,” which has two parts both taking place at the Ryogoku Kokugikan in Tokyo on October 13, 2019 with 11 bouts each.

Angela and Christian are in the first part, which will be broadcast live in the United States via TNT and B/R Live. It starts from 9:00 a.m. JST on October 13, 2019 or 8:00 p.m. EST on October 12, 2019.

In the evening of the same day, the second part will be broadcast live across more than 140 countries worldwide and streamed to 2.6 billion potential viewers through the world’s largest television networks. It starts from 5:00 p.m. JST on October 13, 2019 or 4:00 a.m. EST on October 13, 2019.

In the main event of the first part, Angela will defend her ONE Atomweight World Championship title from  “The Panda” Xiong Jing Nan, 31, of China, the reigning ONE Women’s Strawweight World Champion. It will be a rematch following the loss of the former to the latter at “ONE: A New Era” at the Ryogoku Kokugikan on March 31, 2019.

In the ninth bout on the same card, Christian will face Saygid “Dagi” Guseyn Arslanaliev, 24, of Turkey in the ONE Lightweight World Grand Prix Championship final. The Evolve MMA and United MMA representative replaced Eddie “The Underground King” Alvarez, 35, of the U.S., who pulled out from the fight due to injury.

On October 6, 2019, ONE Championship held an open workout at the Bellesalle Shibuya Garden in Tokyo featuring select “ONE: Century 世紀” athletes including Angela and Christian. It was part of the ONE Martial Arts Fan Fest.

“I’ve taken a step back and collected myself after two tough bouts,” Angela said during the event. “They’ve taught me lessons and helped me realize a lot of things about myself as a fighter. With the help of my family, my Dad, and my team, I’ve worked extremely hard in improving my game.”

The reigning ONE Atomweight World Champion feels that they now have the winning formula. She described Xiong as a worthy champion but Angela believes that the atomweight division is her territory.

“Make no mistake about it,” Angela said. “I’m looking to end matters dramatically within the distance and successfully retain my ONE Women’s Atomweight World Championship.”

In the same event, Christian said he trains year-round to stay ready for any opportunity. The reigning ONE Lightweight World Champion is more than happy to step up and fight Arslanaliev at “ONE: Century 世紀.”

“Entering the ONE Lightweight World Grand Prix Championship Final and getting to perform with my sister Angela at this historic event in Japan, it’s going to be an awesome experience,” Christian said. “I know my opponent is strong and dangerous but so am I. I think our styles match up very well. I can’t wait to showcase my skills for the fans in Tokyo. It’s going to be an electric, action-packed bout and I am definitely looking to finish and shock the world.”
