ONE Championship will hold “ONE: Century 世紀” at the Ryogoku Kokugikan in Tokyo, Japan on October 13, 2019. The combat sports event has two parts with 11 bouts each.
The 44 “ONE: Century 世紀” fighters had their face-off at the Park Hyatt in Tokyo on October 10, 2019. The event was graced by ONE Championship chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong and ONE Championship Japan president Andy Hata.
“This is a historic moment, not only for Japan but for the entire world of martial arts,” Chatri stated during the event. “I named this event ‘ONE: Century 世紀’ to signify the greatest martial arts event in the last 100 years. (The event features) 28 world champions from across various martial arts (and) seven world title bouts (in) two full-scale events.”
“It has never been done before in history,” Chatri continued. “It gives me great pleasure to be with you here today. Our current estimate is that we will have 70 million viewers for ONE: CENTURY, making it the largest martial arts event in history.”
The first part of “ONE: Century 世紀” will be broadcast live in the United States via TNT and B/R Live. It starts from 9:00 a.m. JST on October 13, 2019 or 8:00 p.m. EST on October 12, 2019.
In the evening of the same day, the second part will be broadcast live across more than 140 countries worldwide and streamed to 2.6 billion potential viewers through the world’s largest television networks. It starts from 5:00 p.m. JST on October 13, 2019 or 4:00 a.m. EST on October 13, 2019.
“My fellow brothers and sisters are here, the greatest martial artists on the planet, but above all, truly amazing human beings,” Chatri said. “The world will witness greatness. Most importantly, the world will witness the unleashing of real life superheroes who ignite the world with hope, strength, dreams, and inspiration.”
