Brave Combat Federation is set to crown its first ever champion in its flyweight division. Vying for the title are Jose “Shorty” Torres, 26, of Chicago, Illinois, United States and Marcel Adur, 27, of Balneario Camboriu, Santa Catarina, Brazil.
Brave CF has confirmed the championship bout between Torres and Adur. This is one of the first bouts confirmed to be on the card of “Brave 29,” which will take place at the Khalifa Sports City Arena in Isa Town in the Kingdom of Bahrain on November 15, 2019.
This will not be a new experience for Adur. On November 16, 2018, the Brazilian mixed martial artist traveled to Bahrain in hopes of becoming the first ever Brave CF Flyweight World Champion but saw his opponent Velimurad Alkhasov, 27, of Grozny, Chechen Republic, Russia fail to make weight and beat him at “Brave 18,” leaving the title unscathed.
“He had his chance against a dominant wrestler and lost but I know he doesn’t stand a chance against a dominant wrestler who can trade as well as me,” Torres said of Adur. “If Brave fans want it, I’ll give it, but regardless of the fact. I will be the inaugural flyweight champion.”
Adur has bounced back in style, dominating a tough Marlon “Kid” Derik, 27, of Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil en route to a unanimous decision victory at “Brave 25” on August 30, 2019 at the Minas Tenis Clube Arena in Belo Horizonte. “Brave 29” marks Adur’s fifth outing in Brave CF.
This will be Torres’s second Brave CF bout. On April 19, 2019, he made his Brave CF debut at “Brave 23: Pride and Honor” at the Martyr Rashid Al-Ziyoud Hall Boxing Arena in Amman, Jordan and beat previously unbeaten mixed martial artist Amir “The Prince” Albazi, 25, Iraq and Sweden.
“Brave 29” is part of the Brave International Combat Week. In addition to several amazing bouts, the fight card will also feature the inaugural KHK World Championship, a one-night, four-men, open weight tournament which will give its winner a US$100,000 check, plus the right to be called the KHK World Championship belt provisional holder.
Torres served as a color commentator at “Brave 27” at the Mubadala Arena in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates on October 4, 2019. Here is the the American MMA fighter interviewing Mohammad “The Latest” Fakhreddine, 35, of Beirut, Lebanon:
