Guto Inocente, Azamat Murzakanov

Carlos Augusto “Guto” Inocente Filho, 33, Brazil and Azamat “The Professional” Murzakanov, 30, Russia will battle it out in the semi-finals of the inaugural KHK World Championship, KHK MMA and BRAVE Combat Federation have announced. The one-night, four-men, open weight tournament is part of “Brave 29,” which will take place at the Khalifa Sports City Arena in Isa Town, Bahrain on November 15, 2019.

The match between Inocente and Murzakanov is a classic battle between a striker and a grappler. The Brazilian contender is a multiple-time kickboxing champion who has fought in the Ultimate Fighting Championship, Strikeforce  and Glory Kickboxing while his Russian opponent is a well-versed sambo fighter.

Born in Brasilia, Federal District, Brazil on May 29, 1986, Inocente was seven years old when he started his Brazilian jiu-jitsu training. As a professional MMA fighter, he competed from 2005 to 2015.

In 2014, Inocente competed in “The Ultimate Fighter 19” finale and at “UFC Fight Night 55” and lost both bouts. He holds a professional MMA record of 7 wins and 4 losses and competes in the light heavyweight and heavyweight divisions.

Murzakanov also competes in the light heavyweight division. An undefeated MMA fighter with 7 wins and 0 loss, he has been competing professionally since 2010.

In 2017, Murzakanov was set to debut in the Ultimate Fighting Championship but he was given a two-year sanction for a violation of the promotion’s anti-doping policy. He has yet to compete again since.

The other KHK World Championship semi-final bout is between light heavyweight Moise “Swamp” Rimbon, 42, France and heavyweight Malik “L’Astre” Merad, 29, France. Middleweight Mohammad “The Latest” Fakhreddine, 35, Lebanon will be kept on as an alternate and can join the tournament in case of an injury.

Including the KHK World Championship semi-final and final bouts, the “Brave 29” fight card has 15 professional MMA matches. Here is a clip from Brave CF:
