Jackson Wang, 25, just made history. His first solo album “MIRRORS” debuts on the Billboard 200 Chart at number 32, marking the highest Billboard 200 Chart debut for any Chinese artist’s first album.

This week, the Chinese artist, writer and composer debuted across multiple Billboard charts including number 1 Top 10 Emerging Artists Chart, number 1 Independent Albums Chart, number 2 Rap Album Sales Chart, number 3 on the Digital Albums Chart, number 4 Top Album Sales Chart, number 4 Top Current Albums Chart, number 18 Top Rap Albums Chart, number 22 Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums Chart and number 39 Artist 100 Chart.

Wang has immersed himself in the creative process. Prior to the release of “MIRRORS”, his first single “BULLET TO THE HEART” debuted at number 1 on the Billboard China Chart and peaked at number 1 on the China Social Chart. Other chart topping singles that display his writing, composition and arrangement ability include, “I Love You 3000 II”, a duet with Indonesian pop sensation Stephanie Poetri which debuted at number 1 on the Billboard China Chart, “Different Game” featuring Gucci Mane, which reached number 1 on the US iTunes Hip-Hop/Rap Chart and “Fendiman” which transcended both musical and cultural heights as the first record from a Chinese artist to chart number 1 on the US iTunes Single Chart and Pop Chart.

At the age of 13, Wang started pursuing his passion in music, which led him to sign with South Korea’s top multinational entertainment company and record label, JYP. This astonishing feat has allowed him to perform and tour with GOT7.

While Wang had success as an Olympian fencer prior to his musical endeavors, he realized how deeply his passion and dedication was to his artistic craft, thus rejected many athletic offers to ivy league universities. He has quickly built a fan base in Asia and North America, selling out major arenas including The Forum in Los Angeles, California, United States and Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, USA with GOT7.

When Wang started focusing on his solo career in 2017, his first pop hit single “Papillon” quickly topped Billboard China’s V Chart and landed a number 1 spot in QQ music. The music video for the song gained over 27 million views in just 48 hours, stirring fandom with over 59 million fans and making “Weibo’s Hot Topic List”. Shortly after, his single “Okay” landed the number 1 spot on the iTunes Chart in four countries and made him the fastest Chinese artist to reach 10 million views on VEVO.

As a believer in the power of music, Wang attests that music changes emotions and connects all cultures around the world. In addition to working with Grammy-nominated artists such as Swae Lee and GoldLink and household names like Gucci Mane and Major Lazer, Wang has amassed a cult following that exceeds 35 million fans across social platforms.

Wang has pierced the cultural zeitgeist as the face of lifestyle brands such as Fendi, Armani, Adidas, Pepsi, Ray-Ban, BMW and VIVO.
