Andrew Rorano Karetji, 31, of Indonesia almost won Mister Universe Tourism 2019. He was named the first runner-up of the international male beauty pageant.

Karetji hails from Jayapura, Papua, Indonesia. The city is home to Lake Sentani, Bukit Jokowi, the Cyclop Waterfall, the Skow Village, the Jayapura City Hill, the Harlem Beach, the Base-G Beach, the Love Lake, Pemancingan Permata Hijau and the Hamadi Beach.

Hosted by Miss Earth Philippines 2013 Angelee delos Reyes and “Culion” actor Nico Locco Fowler, the Mr. Universe Tourism 2019 coronation ceremony took place at the Carlos P. Romulo Theater of the RCPC Plaza in Makati City, Metro Manila, Philippines. It is the third edition of the international male beauty pageant.

It was Surasak Mueangkeaw, 24, of Thailand who was crowned Mister Universe Tourism 2019. Kelvin Aguilan Vicente, 27, of the Philippines was first runner-up.

Karetji won most of the special awards namely Best in National Costume, Best Tourism Video, Best in Talent, Mr. Nix Institute of Beauty and the Ambassador of Peace award. Surasak was Best in Formal Wear while Vicente was Best in Swimwear.

Min Khant Zwe, 21, of Myanmar won the Mister Photogenic award. The other candidates were Ali Zebib, 27, of Benin, Tushar Mishra, 23, of India, Prajwal Shrestha, 26, of Nepal, Mazan Saeed, 31, of Pakistan, David Oliver Keller, 28, of Switzerland and Luan Nguyen, 26, of Vietnam.

Mister Universe Tourism 2018 Brata Angga Kartasasmita of Indonesia graced the coronation night. He was originally named Mister Universe Tourism 2018 first runner-up but he was promoted after original titleholder Benigno “Ion” Dungon Perez of the Philippines resigned.

During the Mister Universe Tourism 2019 coronation night, it was announced that the fourth edition of the beauty pageant will take place in 2020 in Bali, Indonesia. It will be hosted by Kartasasmita.
