Representing Thailand, Surasak Mueangkeaw, 24, was crowned Mister Universe Tourism 2019 on November 25, 2019. He bested nine other candidates.
Surasak stands 6’1″ and weighs 69kg. He studied mass vommunication from Chiang Mai University in Mueang Chiang Mai District, Chiang Mai, Thailand and he currently lives in Amphoe Mueang Lamphun, Lamphun, Thailand.
Located 700km north of Bangkok, Thailand, Chiang Mai is near the country’s highest mountains. The city is home to Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, Doi Pui, Doi Inthanon, Wat Chedi Luang and Wat Prasingh.
Hosted by Miss Earth Philippines 2013 Angelee delos Reyes and “Culion” actor Nico Locco Fowler, the Mr. Universe Tourism 2019 coronation night took place at the Carlos P. Romulo Theater of the RCPC Plaza in Makati City, Metro Manila, Philippines. It was the third edition of the international male beauty pageant.
Runner-up to Surasak was Kelvin Vicente, 27, of the Philippines. Andrew Karetji, 31, of Indonesia was second runner-up.
Karetji won most of the special awards namely Best in National Costume, Best Tourism Video, Best in Talent, Mr. Nix Institute of Beauty and the Ambassador of Peace award. Surasak was Best in Formal Wear while Vicente was Best in Swimwear.
Min Khant Zwe, 21, of Myanmar won the Mr. Photogenic award. The other candidates were Ali Zebib of Benin, Tushar Mishra, 23, of India, Prajwal Shrestha of Nepal, Mazan Saeed, 31, of Pakistan, David Oliver Keller, 28, of Switzerland and Luan Nguyen of Vietnam.


Mr. Universe Tourism 2018 Brata Angga Kartasasmita of Indonesia graced the coronation night. He was originally named Mr. Universe Tourism 2018 first runner-up but he was promoted when the original titleholder, Benigno “Ion” Dungon Perez of the Philippines, was dethroned due to failure to fulfill his duties.
During the Mr. Universe Tourism 2019 coronation night, it was announced the the fourth edition of the international male beauty pageant will take place in 2020 in Bali, Indonesia. It will be hosted by Kartasasmita.
Representing the Philippines at Mr. Universe Tourism 2020 is Erik Lennart Visser, 21. Hailing from Cebu, Philippines, the Filipino-Dutch licensed private pilot was crowned Ginoong Pilipinas-Mister Universe Tourism 2019 on October 27, 2019 at the Carlos P. Romulo Theater.
