Fighting out of Pioneer, California, United States, Aspen Ladd, 24, was one of the winners of “UFC on ESPN 7.” It was her fourth victory in the Ultimate Fighting Championship.
The UFC held “UFC on ESPN 7″ at the Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C., United States on December 7, 2019. The fight card featured 12 mixed martial arts bouts.
In the ninth bout of the evening, Ladd fought Yana “Foxy” Kunitskaya, 30, of Russia in the women’s bantamweight division. Keith Peterson served as the referee.
Peterson put a stop to the bantamweight contest after 33 seconds in the third round. Ladd knocked out Kunitskaya via punches.
“I basically revamped everything as far as desire to get back in,” Ladd said in her post-fight interview. “The urge and fire after a loss is so much more. You learn a lot from wins, but you learn so much more from losses and you come back hungry.”
Winning at “UFC on ESPN 7″ improved the professional MMA record of Ladd to 9 wins and 1 loss. On the other hand, Kunitskaya now has 12 wins, 5 losses, 0 draw and 1 No Contest.
“UFC on ESPN 7” marked Ladd’s fifth bout in the UFC. She joined the promotion in 2017.
Born on March 1, 1995, Ladd has been competing professionally since 2015. She competed in Invicta Fighting Championships before joining the UFC.
From 2015 to early 2019, Ladd was an undefeated MMA fighter. The first three opponents she defeated in the UFC were Lina “Elbow Queen” Lansberg, 37, of Malmo, Scania, Sweden, Tonya “Triple Threat” Evinger, 38, and Sijara “Sarj” Eubanks, 34, of Camp Springs, Maryland, USA.
On July 13, 2019, Ladd competed in the UFC for the fourth time. She was knocked out by Germaine “The Iron Lady” de Randamie, 35, of Utrecht, Netherlands via punches at “UFC Fight Night 155” at the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, California.
