Silvia Vanessa Ponce de León Sánchez of Mexico was crowned Miss World 2018 at the Sanya City Arena in Sanya, China on December 8, 2018. She competed against 117 other candidates.

Miss World 2019
On December 14, 2019, Ponce will crown her successor at the ExCeL London in London, England, United Kingdom. It is the 68th edition of the oldest existing international beauty pageant.
There are 111 women competing for the Miss World 2019 title. A total of 40 candidates will proceed to the quarterfinals.
