Filipino actor Mico Palanca died in San Juan City, Metro Manila, Philippines on December 8, 2019. He was 41.
The cause of death has yet to be confirmed. Rumors claim that Palanca jumped off a building at a residential area in Santolan in San Juan City and was only identified on December 9, 2019.
According to rumors, Palanca suffered from depression and it reportedly had something to do with his love life. But these rumors must be taken with a grain of salt as his family has yet to either confirm or deny them.
Bea Alonzo used to date Palanca. They broke up in 2008.
Palanca was born to the late Bernard Palanca Sr. and Pita Revilla-Palanca. The late actor has three brothers namely Bernard Palanca Jr., Martin Palanca and Santi Palanca and two sisters namely Lisa Palanca and Erika Palanca.
Pita is the daughter of the late actor Jose Goyena Revilla, who was professionally known as Armando Goyena. Mico’s paternal grandfather Carlos Palanca, Jr. is the man behind the Carlos Palanca Memorial Awards for Literature, a set of literary awards for Filipino writers considered as the Pulitzer Prize of the Philippines.

“We are extremely saddened by the sudden passing of our beloved brother, Miko Palanca,” the family said in a statement obtained by PEP. “The whole family is grateful for the incredible outpour of love and support that has been coming in today. As of now, we would like to respectfully request for privacy as we go through this very difficult time.”
“Again, we appreciate all the love and support,” the statement continued. “Thank you so much. – Pita, Lisa, Bernard, Erika, Martin and Santi.”

In 2000, Mico starred in the ABS-CBN series “Tabing Ilog” and “Pangako Sa’yo.” In 2001, he co-starred with Lisa and Goyena in “Yamashita: The Tiger’s Treasure,” a Chito S. Roño film that won the Best Picture award at the 27th Metro Manila Film Festival.
Mico played Jake in “FPJ’s Ang Probinsiyano” in 2016 and young Gabriel in “Nang Ngumiti Ang Langit” in 2019. Here is Boy Abunda‘s message to the late actor’s family:
