There are 111 women competing for the Miss World 2019 title. Among these candidates, 17 are from Africa, 24 are from Asia, 15 are from the Caribbean, 33 are from Europe, nine are from North America excluding those from the Caribbean, four are from Oceania and nine are from South America.
Miss World 2018
On December 8, 2018, Vanessa Ponce represented Mexico at Miss World 2018 and competed against 117 other candidates at the Sanya City Arena in Sanya, China. She won the title.
Runner-up to Ponce was Nicolene Limsnukan of Thailand. She was crowned Miss World Asia 2018.
Maria Vasilevich of Belarus, Kadijah Robinson of Jamaica and Quiin Abenakyo of Uganda, who finished in the Top 5, were the respective Miss World Europe 2018, Miss World Caribbean 2018 and Miss World Africa 2018. Solaris Barba of Panama was Miss World Americas 2018 and Jessica Tyson of New Zealand was Miss World Oceania 2018.
Miss World 2019
On December 14, 2019, Ponce will crown her successor at the ExCeL London in London, England, United Kingdom. Miss World 2013 Megan Young and Miss World 2016 Stephanie del Valle will host the coronation ceremony with Fernando Allende, Angela Cow, Frankie Cena and Barney Walsh.
