Nahuel “El Roble” Gandolfi, 29, of La Plata, Argentina made his BRAVE Combat Federation debut at “BRAVE CF 29.” It was his 17th professional mixed martial arts bout.
Featuring 14 MMA bouts, BRAVE CF held “BRAVE CF 29” at the Khalifa Sports City Arena in Isa Town, Bahrain on November 15, 2019. In the main event of the evening, Gandolfi battled it out in the bantamweight division against Hamza Kooheji, 26, of Bahrain.
Kooheji knocked out Gandolfi in the third round. It downgraded the professional MMA record of the Argentine contender to 13 wins and 4 losses.
“Estoy muy contento con mi experiencia en BRAVE (I am very happy with my experience in BRAVE),” Gandolfi told me after “BRAVE CF 29.” “Aprendí que estoy a la altura de el mejor nivel, incluso de ser la pelea estelar. Humildemente creo que el error estuvo en mi carencia de equipo (I learned that I live up to the best level, even fighting in the main event. I humbly believe that the mistake was in my lack of equipment).”
“Si hubiese en mi esquina alguien que me haga seguir la estrategia que teniamos pensada (If there was someone in my corner who made me follow the strategy we had in mind),” Gandolfi continued. “De hecho, soy buen striker y en el momento me salio solamente buscar el BJJ. Pero bueno, de todo se aprende (In fact, I am a good striker and at the time, I only went out to look for BJJ. But hey, you learn everything).”
Gandolfi was the only Argentine MMA fighter on the “BRAVE CF 29” card. I asked him about his preparations for his next fight.
“Actualmente ya estoy preparandome para mi próxima pelea (I am currently preparing for my next fight),” Gandolfi told me. “Por regla general, nunca dejo de entrenar, entrenando grappling por la mañana, el acondicionamiento físico a la tarde y mi striking por la noche (As a rule, I never stop training, training grappling in the morning, fitness in the afternoon and my striking at night.”
On December 6, 2019, Gandolfi competed in his hometown. He faced his countryman Nahuel Lopez at the Asociación Panamericana de Artes Marciales event “Peleas de Kickboxing y Lucha Extrema” at the Club Alem in La Plata.
In the first round, Gandolfi submitted Lopez via triangle choke. It improved the professional MMA record of the former to 14 wins and 4 losses.
Gandolfi has been competing professionally since 2014. Here is a clip featuring the Argentine MMA fighter:
