ONE Championship has decided to give back this holiday season. In cooperation with Global Citizen, the martial arts organization visited the Smokey Mountain in Tondo, Manila, Metro Manila, Philippines days before 2020 started.

Since partnering with Global Citizen in early 2018, ONE Championship has spearheaded various corporate social responsibility activities across Asia. Built on the foundation of the true values of martial arts namely integrity, humility, honor, respect, courage, discipline and compassion, the organization has strived to leave a lasting impact on the world through its various initiatives.

During the holidays, ONE Championship handed out brand new clothing and apparel to Young Focus, a local non-government organization that has worked diligently throughout the years in providing health and educational services for underprivileged children in the area. Based in Manila, Young Focus has also previously worked with other organizations, most notably Miss Universe via the 2018 titleholder Catriona Gray of the Philippines.

The Smokey Mountain used to be a large landfill situated in Tondo. It was closed to give way to public housing in the late 1990s and has since served as housing for impoverished families.

This is not the first time ONE Championship has worked with Young Focus . The former regularly frequents the Smokey Mountaun communities in outreach programs featuring its athletes such as former ONE Lightweight World Champion Eduard Folayang, ONE Women’s Atomweight World Champion Angela Lee and ONE Heavyweight World Champion Brandon Vera, among others.

Erstwhile in Singapore, ONE Championship gave out donations and gifts to migrant workers living and working in the country. The organization was able to over 650 beneficiaries in collaboration with ItsRainingRaincoats.

Aiming to ultimately end worldwide poverty by the year 2030, Global Citizen will continue to work with ONE Championship. In 2020, the martial arts organization returns to martial arts action with its first live event of the year titled “ONE: A New Tomorrow” set for the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand on January 10, 2020.
